Most insurance plans are accepted, including Medicaid. Pediatric Audiology Services We are the pediatric experts! Newborn Hearing Screenings The first three years of a child's life is a critical developmental period. Any degree of early hearing loss can significantly affect speech and language development, learning ability, as well as social and emotional growth. Early detection is key. Easter Seals works in collaboration with Volusia and Flagler County hospitals implementing a comprehensive newborn hearing screening program, providing screenings, appropriate follow-up care, additional testing, and assistance to families of children identified with hearing loss. Pediatric Hearing Assessments Easter Seals audiologists provide full assessments of children of all ages using child-friendly non-invasive tools such as otoacoustic emissions (OAE) which examines whether the hairs in the ear are functioning properly. Auditory Processing Testing Despite normal hearing, some children have difficulty processing or making sense out of what they are hearing. Problems with auditory processing often lead to learning and behavioral difficulties. Recent research indicates that many children diagnosed with AD/HD (Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder) may have auditory processing issues. Proven management strategies do exist. Easter Seals can help. For further information, call (386) 255-4568 or
