Easter Seals Charter School

Easter Seals Charter School, which opened in the fall of 2005, serves pre-kindergarten exceptional education students in an inclusive classroom setting alongside pre-kindergarten students at Easter Seals Child Development Center.   Easter Seals Charter School, Volusia County Schools, offers a fully inclusive preschool program for 3-5 year olds with special needs.  Children with special needs spend the entire day fully included with their typically developing peers.

Easter Seals Early Education program is designed to meet the needs of three to five-year-old children of all abilities.

The 2008-2009 Charter School exceeded expectations, resulting in close to 90% of children with disabilities enrolled in transitioning to general education kindergarten classrooms.

In addition, students benefit from a low student to teacher ratio; highly trained and certified teaching staff, a nutritious food service program and child and parent friendly facilities. Each child has their own Individualized Education Plan (IEP) outlining specific goals and objectives to meet his/her own needs.  Speech, Occupational and Physical Therapy is available on-site.  For more than 20 years, Easter Seals has worked with Volusia County Schools to provide educational and therapy services to students of all ages and abilities.  Eligibility for placement is determined by Volusia County Schools.

For information, call Krista Barringer, Principal (386) 255-4568 x301 or (386) 736-9849.
