Camp Without Barriers for Children and Adults with Disabilities

Camp is about all the things children and adults can do -- play basketball, canoe, sing, eat s'mores and more. Easter Seals camping programs provide a safe, barrier-free environment for children and adults to experience all aspects of camp without usual limitations.

Easter Seals Camp Challenge, situated on 63 beautiful acres in Sorrento, is Florida's only fully accessible residential camp. Camp provides an opportunity for people of all ages with physical limitations to achieve independence regardless of the challenges they face on a day-to-day basis. From campfire sing-a-longs and late night ghost stories, to boating, nature walks, swimming, and arts and crafts, Easter Seals camps provide the same excitement and activity available at other summer camp programs. The difference? Easter Seals campers experience the joys and challenges of camp in a fully-accessible setting. Campers have a range of choices that offer adventure and the chance to build new confidence and self-esteem.

Caring, specially trained counselors and medical personnel make up the Camp Challenge staff. The camp is fully accredited by the American Camping Association, ensuring a quality experience.

Tennis Everyone!

Easter Seals of Volusia, Flagler Counties and USTA  Florida have teamed up to offer Tennis Everyone! Tennis Everyone! clinics offer children who are mobility impaired the chance to play tennis.
            The Tennis Everyone! program utilizes sports wheelchairs to serve children and adults of all mobility levels. Children and adults who use varying mobility devices in their daily lives — from walkers to wheelchairs — or who may simply have mobility impairments without need for assistive devices are qualified for this unique sports program.

Respite Camp

Easter Seals Camp Challenge also offers a year-round program called Respite Camp. Respite Camp provides people with disabilities increased recreational opportunities and gives caregivers and parents a planned break during scheduled monthly respite weekends and several six-day sessions. The respite programs consist of camping activities, special educational and evening programs, and workshops for campers. Programs and activities are adaptive and age appropriate.

The program is open to individuals six years of age and older who have a disability and meet the established respite acceptance criteria.
